The 300th volunteers will assist as representatives of New Bern during its year-long celebration. Being a volunteer provides local residents a unique opportunity to participate in exciting events that will inspire our guests to visit New Bern in 2010 and beyond. Volunteers can assist with specific events such as the 300th Jubilee or help with general office work, communications, school and community outreach, and other needs. You may also want to organize beautification projects in your community to help prepare for our guests or participate in a bunting class and help our town look historic for the celebration. By all means, invite and encourage your friends and family to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience. We look forward to celebrating New Bern’s 300th anniversary with your help.

First Night/New Bern History Bowl Information . . .
First Night® New Bern 2010 will be the opening event for The City of New Bern's 300th Anniversary Celebration on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2009. It is arts-based and family oriented and will include over 30 sites for entertainment - many free events, some requiring purchase of a button for admission.
As part of the 300th Celebration in 2010, there will be a year-long History Bowl with matches beginning during the First Night® celebration on December 31, 2009 and ending with the semi-final and final rounds on December 18, 2010.

Now accepting applications for Parade participants! Don't miss out on this opportunity of a lifetime! Space is limited and the deadline for applications is June 1, 2010.
The 300th Anniversary Jubilee Heritage Parade will offer a festive environment offering community involvement, family enjoyment and entertainment with a theme that promotes the City of New Bern and the 300th Anniversary of its founding. We encourage you to participate in this Grand Event on Saturday, September 18th, 2010. Parade Rules, Regulations and Applications are found below.
